This learning module is designed to help growers implement food safety and industry best practices for their harvesting operations. The practices included in this module establish a foundation if your farming operation seeks to gain third-party certification and be audited by a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) program.
Note: Farms with multiple facility locations must complete separate assessments for each location. Examples in this module are provided for reference only and focus on the harvesting portion of the hop production cycle (rather than the field operations before harvest). Each grower should consider their farm’s unique operations when determining how to implement practices. Completion of the individual steps or full learning module attests that you understand and have implemented these practices on your farm and will continue to do so.
